Grundon’s ever-expanding fleet of electric waste collection vehicles (EVs) is in the running for a top industry award.
It has been shortlisted for Private Sector Commercial Fleet of the Year Award in the annual GreenFleet Awards. The winners will be announced on 7 December at The British Motor Museum, Gaydon.
The awards, sponsored by Optimize, celebrate the work being done by fleet operators and manufacturers as they strive to deliver net zero operations.
Grundon is the only waste company to have made the shortlist and sees it line up alongside organisations such as The Royal Mail, Welch’s Transport and Evri.
John Stephens, Grundon’s General Manager – Logistics, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this industry award and feel especially proud that we are the only representative from the waste sector.
“We are working hard to deliver a greener, cleaner collection fleet and by the end of the year will have six EVs in place, with more to follow during 2024.”
This summer, Grundon unveiled its first two re-powered EVs operating in Colnbrook and Bristol, and since then, further vehicles have been added to the fleet.
